Accessibility Statement

Mum-Kini aims to make its website welcoming and usable for people with different abilities. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a reference when improving the site. This is a design goal, not a claim of verified conformance.

Accessibility support tools

Open the logo-inspired Accessibility Tools button in the lower-left corner of any page. The panel can be used with a keyboard, and on small screens it opens as a full-screen drawer. Escape or the Close button closes it. These tools are intended to improve usability and support WCAG-informed practices, not replace accessible design or professional assessment.

Visual adjustments

Adjust text size from 100% to 130%, line height, and word spacing. Readable Font uses Arial or your system's equivalent sans-serif font. High Contrast applies a dark background with light text; Light Contrast applies a light background with dark text. Grayscale removes color from the main page content. The panel and cookie controls keep their own readable appearance.

Reading aids and cognitive support

Highlight links or headings, strengthen keyboard focus indicators, hide page images while preserving layout, and pause CSS motion. The reading line and reading mask follow pointer or touch movement to help focus on part of the page. Reading overlays are hidden while the tools panel is open. When a reading aid is active, Alt + Up Arrow and Alt + Down Arrow move it using the keyboard.

Quick preference profiles

Vision Support, Cognitive Support, Dyslexia Support, and Senior Friendly apply groups of display settings. These are convenience presets, not diagnoses, treatments, or guarantees that any particular setting will meet your needs. Each individual setting can be adjusted after selecting a preset.

Keyboard, touch, and reset

Buttons have accessible labels and pressed states. Use Tab to move through the panel, Enter or Space to activate controls, and the labelled plus/minus buttons to change values. Reset Preferences returns the page to its standard display and clears the saved preferences.

Saved preferences

Your choices are stored locally in this browser under mumkini_accessibility_v1. They are used across pages on this website, are not sent to Mum-Kini by the widget, and contain no name or email. They stay until you reset preferences or clear browser storage; they do not expire after 30 days. If browser storage is blocked, tools still apply to the current page but may not persist. Read our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy.

Known limitations and areas for improvement

We have not completed an independent accessibility audit or tested every assistive-technology combination. The widget does not change external checkout, embedded third-party frames, or downloaded PDFs. Hiding images may remove visual context; reset that setting if needed. Some ebook covers contain text within images; product names, prices, and purchase links are also provided as webpage text. The downloadable PDFs have not been verified for full screen-reader accessibility.

Kit signup forms, checkout, form-security challenges, and externally supplied blog content may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control. If a form, checkout, article, or download creates a barrier, please contact us so we can investigate and discuss another way to help.
